Mimosa extract comes from the bark of the Acacia Mearnsii also known as Black Wattle, grown on tree farms for this purpose. It is a catechol tannin that penetrates the skin very quickly and is frequently used in many types of tanning, including the tanning of lighter skins such as sheep, goat and deer. It yields a color similar to that shown in the picture of the extract. You’ll want at least one pound per deer sized hide, though two pounds is more comfortable.
