APERA INSTRUMENTS Waterproof pH Tester Kit, ±0.1 pH Accuracy
This is our favorite pH meter for use in the tannery and we’ve tried a lot. This one reliably maintains accuracy (rarely need to calibrate), and crucially is truly waterproof. Hide tanning and dyeing are both highly governed by pH, and while you can certainly get by without measuring tools, they will give you much more consistent tanning results as well as help you learn a lot.

Verified ReviewI thought this was just the pricier version of a ph meter I could get online. Oh well, I’d rather support Traditional Tanners. I was wrong, the unit I received is top of the line with cool extra stuff! As usual I got more than I paid for from braintan.com.
