This is our favorite pH meter for use in the tannery and we’ve tried a lot. This one reliably maintains accuracy (rarely need to calibrate), and crucially is truly waterproof. Hide tanning and dyeing are both highly governed by pH, and while you can certainly get by without measuring tools, they will give you much more consistent tanning results as well as help you learn a lot.
