Hair On Deer

We start with well skinned white-tail deer hides that are a by-product of hunting (most deer hides are thrown away), and specifically select hides that have a very early winter coat before it gets hollow, so that they have durable hair. We bark tan them with our locally harvested oak bark so that they are completely washable, durable and butter soft.

The result is gorgeous deer hides that are durable for any use. Great for the outdoors as their straight hair doesn’t collect grass and seeds, an area rug, a throw on your chair or couch, or for beautiful accents for your craft projects.
