Vests

This is a two hide vest. It is not fitted, but styled with the intention of being able to wear it in the heat of the summer or the chill of the winter. For this reason the buttons, which are made of antler, close by buckskin loops instead of button-holes. This allows the vest to be adjusted when worn with a bulky sweater or fit more closely when worn with a shirt. The collar edging is done with a whip stitch that both stabilizes the shape and decorates. The bottom edge of this vest was left with the shape of the deer hide’s natural contours. The back of this vest isn’t shown but it has a ‘V’ shaped yoke with long fringe.
